Krasnaya Polyana

Krasnaya PolyanaKrasnaya Polyana is the most sophisticated ski and snowboard resort in Russia and will be the host of the 2014 Winter Olympics. Sometimes called the "Russian Courchevel", Krasnaya Polyana villageis famous for its well-maintained pistes, quality apres-ski, comfortable minihotels at the village and cozy apres-ski bars. The lifts are fast and convenient, the runs are in a very good condition, the local rescue team is one the best in Russia. The locals are very friendly and the resort is completely safe.

Krasnaya Polyana is located just 45 km from Adler airport (Sochi's airport). The climate is mild(affected by the nearby sea) and comparatively warm. Indeed the resort is located at 'the wettest point in Europe' and that snow depths can reach 7 metres (over 23 feet).

The slopes have a reputation for their long season thanks to some of the most consistent and extensive snowfalls in Russia. Krasnaya Polyana's best slopes are located on the northernpart of the Aibga Ridge ("Alpika service", Gornaya karusel ski tracks) with the longest 4km (2.5 miles) in length over a 1200m vertical. However heli-skiing can extend the trail length to nearly 7km (over 4 miles) by continuing up to 3200 metres above sea level. Heli-skiing can open up a vertical of more than 2000m (nearly 7000 feet)

Laura (this name came from the local river's name) ski resort was built by Gazprom company. It is a new resort with modern lifts and infrastructure, but at the end of the season or in warm days there could be no snow, while on "Alpika service" or "Gornaya Karusel" there could be snow on the highest trails.

Rosa Khutor ski resort in Krasnaya Polyana is the zone of the International Olympic hospitality. The resort is open all year and is ready to offer winter and summer sports programs, as well as a variety of cultural, secular, entertainment and business events.

In winter Rosa Khutor offers a range of services that can meet the demands of the most discerning guests. Education skating with experienced instructors, special programs for children, sports equipment rental - everything you need for a better stay in the mountains.

In general, Krasnaya Polyana is a place where you can enjoy the beauty of nature, spend time snowboarding or skiing or just quietly relax by the fireplace in one of the luxury hotels.
